Stereo Embers’ Track of the Day comes from Sam Amidon.
The first single from his new album Lily-O, “Blue Mountains” is a contemplative and meditative number that’s punctuated by a lonely cello and Amidon’s wistful voice winding longingly through the spare composition.
Thoughtfully directed by Andrea Sisson, and featuring the fetching Alex Noiret as the video’s subject, “Blue Mountains” is a touching look at childhood, from a rather unique perspective.
We’ve always been fans of Sam’s–check out our photo essay of a show he did back in October of 2014 here:
Lilly-O is out now on Nonesuch.
