Uma & the Wandering Stars are an indie alternative pop/rock outfit from London, England, led by singer-songwriter Uma Starets and packed with talented musicians known as the Wandering Stars.
The group’s members have been roaming the music world, already accomplishing other musical ventures in other projects, including supporting Suede on tour and performing at V Festival.
As Uma & the Wandering Stars they all bring a sophisticated glamour and savoir-faire to the affair. New tune “One Second”, however, shows off a more urgent and grittier facet of their sound. The band has also bowed a performance video for the captivatingly moody and tense song that blends rock instrumentation with symphonic touches in the backdrop. Uma’s lightly frustrated vocals roll along with the driven sonics as she repeats the chorus sections’ lyrics with a hypnotic pull.
“One Second” comes off debut EP Trapped, which was produced by Fraser Smith (Shed Seven, Ian Brown) and mastered by Dick Beetham (KT Tunstall, Scissor Sisters). The song has been picked up by BBC London, Amazing Radio, and RTÉ 2FM, as well as having been featured on We Love That / Magazine and The ‘Spill.
