Lucky 757 are a Portsmouth, Virginia-located band making waves with their modern brand of surf rock, rockabilly, and Americana music. The act pays tribute to vintage genres of rock ‘n’ roll from the ‘50s and ‘60s and kicks it into the spectacular now with razor sharp rhythms, high intensity, and dynamic enthusiasm.
Lucky 757 is named after their hometown of Portsmouth’s telephone area code and the band has been fortunate to tour all over Virginia, play big music fests, and open for Rev. Horton Heat and Big Sandy. Lucky 757 centers on the father and son, and songwriting, duo of Danny Spivey and Cory Spivey and also includes Sam Haga and Angel Lopez.
The band is set to release their third album, Lonesome Lagoon (7/27) and Stereo Embers is pleased to premiere a rad track off the LP.
Titled “Mar Agitado”, the instrumental lives up to its name as its pace behaves like an ever-changing ocean wave; sometimes rippling with a laid-back calm and other times whirling with a livelier turbulence, but always maintaining a cool flow. So get immersed in the retro guitar reverb and punchy drum beat – and let the good times roll.
