Eagle Johnson & Clean Machine hails from Nashville, TN. Tennessee Beach, which comes out December 22nd, is the band’s debut release.
Sometimes punchy, sometimes psychedelic, and always melodic, Tennessee Beach is the sound of a songwriter who has rebelled, traveled, sinned, and done hard time before coming out on the other side with renewed inspiration. The LP was produced by Billy Bennett (you may know him as a popular engineer (The Whigs), but he’s also remembered as the kicker for Georgia Bulldogs!).
Eagle is not shy about his adoration for singer and actress Kimbra. He even recruited some of her band mates to play on this record (Timon Martin and Stevie McQuinn Jr). “Hero” is an ode to her and Eagle even sings out to ‘Nebraska Jones’, the imaginary child Kimbra name-drops in her song “Settle Down.”
