“Set Lusting Bruce,” a beloved podcast for Springsteen fans, recently tackled the mighty Darkness on the Edge of Town, with host Jesse Jackson and guest Scott Isom discussing the album and ranking the album’s ten anthems from worst to first on the “Scott Darkness” episode.
The timely podcast comes about a month before Bruce Springsteen’s Darkness on the Edge of Town, an International Symposium, at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ, which begins on Thursday, April 12th.
Jackson’s conversation with Scott Isom is part of a series of discussions about each of the Boss’s albums and how the songs on each stack up against each other. Next week’s Set Lusting Bruce podcast is the beginning of discussions about Tracks, with a single podcast devoted to each CD of the four-CD box set released in 1996. Fans are of course invited to share their thoughts.
For the past two years, Jesse Jackson has spoken with Springsteen fans from around the world on “Set Lusting Bruce.” The episodes range from fans sharing their Springsteen journey to song discussions and tour stories. The current series of episodes features Jackson and a guest selecting a studio album and ranking its songs “from worst to first.”
“I believe every Springsteen fan has a story, and it’s my goal to capture those stories and share them on the podcast,” says Jackson. “This is a labor of love, and I truly appreciate the fans who join me to share their Springsteen journeys.”
