The Record Company are one of those bands that leave me speechless every time I shoot them.
I’ve seen them three times in the last year or so and each show has been a unique and equally exciting performance, filled with power, soul and truth.
The Grammy-nominated band headlined a sold-out show at Irving Plaza the other night and they played a generous selection of new material, including their fabulous new single “Baby, I’m Broken” as well as numbers from their debut album Give It Back To You.
Singer Chris Vos is a commanding frontman, whose prowess on the lap steel is something to behold, while bassist Alex Stiff and drummer Marc Cazorla remain one of the most dangerous rhythm sections around.
Coming off a stint as the opener or John Mayer’s recent arena tour, The Record Company is set to continue to tour on their own across the U.S. in May/June.
