Oregon-born, LA-based pop singer-songwriter and performer Taylor Jahn has poured himself into his music, creating moving compositions that pull from a multitude of his inspirations and experiences. Jahn’s material ranges from sweeping ballads to upbeat, pop-oriented tunes that all reflect his inner emotions and outer observations.
Jahn’s debut EP, Hide Away, will be revealed on January 27th and he has recently released a video for the title track off the EP. It’s a poignant piece, both lyrically and visually, that shows Jahn sifting through old photographs and his cherished memories of family and connection. Gentle acoustic guitar strokes and subdued piano notes accompany his sweetly pleading vocals that contain a hint of Morten Harket’s (of a-ha) yearning tone.
Jahn began playing piano at the age of six and hasn’t looked back musically since, building up his repertoire on the strength of his insightful song-writing and potent vocals. His instrumental arrangements are composed of a lush texture of rich piano notes, orchestral strings, acoustic guitar lines, and Jahn’s engaging vocals that pull on the heartstrings.
