Frank Turner is known for delivering some of the most blistering live performances around.
The Meonstoke-born singer/songwriter is never one to skimp on intensity and heart and his show at the Town Hall in New York the other night (10/15) was no exception.
Although it was an all acoustic, mostly sit-down affair, Turner and his band didn’t let the casual setup interfere with the vigor and power of his compositions.
Turner played numbers from his expansive songbook, including tracks from his latest album No Man’s Land. Filled with muscle, truth and poetic soul, Turner is a songwriter who has the perfect balance of empathy and guts and every number sizzles with raw immediacy.
“The Graveyard Of The Outcast Dead” and “Nica” were two personal favorites from his solo set, but when he was joined by his band The Sleeping Souls, tracks like “I Am Disappeared” and “The Way I Tend To Be” took right off.
Turner always puts on an exhaustive show and it never fails to be an invigorating experience.
