I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to shoot the Spin Doctors at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester.
They played a benefit concert for a great local charity, The Carver Center in Port Chester, an organization that has been serving the community for over sixty years, providing free babysitting, swim lessons and clothes and food for those in need. You can visit them here:
It was a fun charity event, an amazing concert, and a truly fabulous night.
The last time I saw the Spin Doctors play was in 2001 when the four original band members reunited to play their first show in seven years to commemorate the closing of the now legendary NYC club the Wetlands. That was a fantastic show and the band has been playing together on and off ever since.
It’s hard to believe that was almost 14 years ago and it took me that long to see them again but I’m glad I did.
Chris Barron is a charismatic frontman and the band – Eric Schenkman on guitar, Mark White on Bass and Aaron Comess on the drums – are world class musicians and they sounded super tight.
The set list was great and the crowd ate it up.
