I was really for the opportunity to shoot my new favorite guitarist Anders Osborne at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester last Friday night.

But I was doubly excited because the show was North Mississippi Osborne – a collaboration of The Anders Osborne Band and The North Mississippi All Stars–another band I love.

The two bands just recorded an album together under the NMO name called Freedom and Dreams and are touring together in support of the record.

The N.M. All-stars are brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson along with bass player Lightnin Malcolm.  The Anders Osborne Band is Anders–a force of nature on guitar–along with the great Carl Dufrene on bass and the amazing Brady Blade on drums. The show was a non-stop three hour blues/swamp rock explosion with different members of each band playing at different times and at one point all six members played together (there were 2 drum kits on stage).

It was a thrill for me to shoot the show and I have to say it was one of the best live gigs I’ve seen in a long time!
