Neurosis’ new album An Undying Love For A Burning World is out now on Bandcamp.
The post-metal band from Oakland haven’t put new music out since 2016’s Fires Within Fires and their new album quietly slipped onto their official Bandcamp page with no fanfare.
A mysterious outfit whose camp can go quiet for years, Neurosis don’t saturate social media with their whereabouts, leaving some to wonder if they’re still an ongoing concern.
Spoiler alert: they are.
In a statement, the band wrote of the new album that it’s “…not a reunion – we never broke up”.
Undying Love finds SUMAC’s Aaron Turner on vocals and guitar.
“He came straight out of the gate contributing, writing and presenting ideas,” the band wrote of Turner joining the fold. “His energy matches ours perfectly. It’s as if he was always meant to be there.”
Neurosis will play their first live gig in over seven years on the traditional lands of the Blackfeet Nation in Montana as part of Fire In The Mountains festival, which is being put on by the Firekeeper Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to reducing youth suicide in Indian Country.
