It was a groovy night at the Capitol.
Last week (4/6) the legendary New York club had Kung Fu and Deep Banana Blackout on the bill and it was one of the funkiest, coolest shows of the year.
The electro-fusion of Kung Fu was infectious and tons of fun, The Connecticut band play an adrenalized confluence of ’70s soul and EDM and the result is some of the most original music you’ll ever hear.
Meanwhile, Deep Banana Blackout are another Connecticut outfit who’ve been at it for almost 25 years. Their brand of swaggering funk brings to mind the early work of the Meters and P Funk and they are truly one of the most cohesive and energetic live bands around.
Both bands were great–it was a night of virtuoso-like dexterity and a crowd that couldn’t stop dancing.
