LA-Based Synth/Electro-Pop Outfit Trade Secrets Unveil Captivating Single

Written by:

Engaging Los Angeles-based synth/electro-pop outfit Trade Secrets will be revealing their new These Other Lives – Part Two EP on January 22nd. It’s the second record in a series that tracks the bittersweet mood of a person as they change over time.

This overall theme follows an arc that starts with cold and distant emotions that slowly morph into real warmth and happiness.

This second EP acts as a bridge between the two worlds; from one that presents a superficial persona to the final phase that showcases true feelings.

Captivating lead single “Glyphic” a saturated and vibrant post-punk-driven electro-synth number from These Other Lives – Part Two.

A rich blend of reverberating electronics, effervescent synth press, hollowed out guitar lines, and reflective vocals swirl throughout the song, creating a transporting atmosphere of light and shadows.

Band member Damien Polak comments that “Glyphic” delves into “…mixed emotions; something virtual becoming real. Like something that is not supposed to happen finally becomes obvious.”

It’s especially meaningful in a time when we’re social distancing/isolating and using computer/phone screens to communicate and create. Even when not physically together, we can still connect and be real with each other.

Later this year all the songs will be collected into a limited edition CD, including bonus track and remixes, that will be available on Trade Secret’s Bandcamp page.
