I’ve been waiting years to see Graham Parker play live and after his show the other night at the Fairfield Theatre Company in Connecticut, all I can say is this: it was worth the wait.
Parker’s delivery is as smooth and barbed as ever and his between song banter was genial and hilarious.
A master songwriter, storyteller and entertainer, Parker delivered a set that showcased his wit, his soulful voice and his lippy snarl, which, even at 65 is as potent as ever.
Flanked by legendary, longtime foil Brinsley Schwarz on guitar, Parker used the stripped down presentation to his advantage–the show was intimate, witty and loose.
Here are some of my favorite shots of the night.
