Stereo Embers Magazine is delighted to host the song premiere of Smash Fashion’s new track “Smiles and Daggers”. This song is from the Los Angeles-based glam/punk/power-pop band’s upcoming album (their fourth to date) Rompus Pompous, which arrives July 6th via Electric Pudding Recordings, and features David Bowie’s longtime musical conductor and pianist Mike Garson on keys.
Album-closer “Smiles and Daggers” clocks in at just under seven minutes with an epic melodic build throughout the track, and features some truly captivating guitar-work and solos starting around the midway point.
Rompus Pompous, the follow-up to 2014’s Big Cat Love LP, is loaded with hooks, energy, and adventurous rock ‘n’ roll. Pumped up classic rock, ‘70s FM pop, and swaggering glam dance around touches of New Wave, psychedelia, and gutter-punk. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Roger Deering’s songs of dysfunctional misfits and misadventures hit a chord that most of us can relate to.
Deering reveals, “Every Smash Fashion LP ventures left. This one features the great Mike Garson (ex-Bowie) on the track “Smiles and Daggers”… more proof than ‘glam’ is not a dirty word.”
Smash Fashion’s Rompus Pompous will be available on vinyl, CD, and streaming formats July 6th via Electric Pudding Recordings.
