Dot Allison Of One Dove Returns With Personal New Album In July

Written by:

Many may know of Dot Allison as the vocalist of Scottish chill electro/ambient outfit One Dove who released their notable album Morning Dove White in 1993.

Allison is also an accomplished solo artist with several albums to her name, including debut Afterglow from 1999, 2002’s breakthrough We Are Science, Exaltation of Larks in 2007, and 2009’s Room 7 ½.

The singer-songwriter will be unveiling her most personal and introspective album to date, Heart-Shaped Scars, on July 30th via SA Recordings.

The collection of alternative folk songs showcase Allison’s coolly placid and smooth vocal tone that still ripples with vulnerable emotions just below the surface.

Ahead of the album’s arrival Allison has dropped delicate lead single “Long Exposure.” The pastoral track mixes pristine acoustic guitar pluck with pensive symphonic strings/woodwinds and Allison’s hushed, yet airily sung sentiments.
