David Klotz, who is one of half of the synth-pop duo Dream System 8, appears this week on Stereo Embers: The Podcast with Alex Green.
Klotz, who also works as the Music Editor on “Stranger Things” and “Game Of Thrones,” details the unconventional way his new band came together following the demise of his old outfit, Fonda.
A collector of vintage synths and a fan of bands like The Human League and OMD, Klotz, along with Erica Elektra, have crafted one of the most sonorous, infectious and wildly addictive albums of the year. Their debut record We Sleep Again is at once an homage to ’80s synth glory and an inventive musical retelling of the past.
The Emmy-Award winning Klotz talks to Alex about finding a musical partner whose tireless work ethic rivals his own. He also talks about My Bloody Valentine, raising his son in a digital age and why he doesn’t write when he’s heartbroken.
