2018 is already upon us, so before the year advances even more, here are my favorite alternative music videos of 2017.

Los Angeles based musical pioneer John Fryer and Black Needle Noise, let out in early December the astonishing single/video “System Bi” featuring the exotic voice of Senegalese Fakeba singing in her own native language!
Last May the French electronic musician/producer Astrobal checked in with “Australasie” featuring the enchanting voice of ex-Stereolab’s singer Laetitia Sadier!
Los Angeles electro duo Lucky + Love put out a stunning record indeed, and “Digging in The Earth” is on it!
The legendary and beloved Depeche Mode’s “Where’s The Revolution” came from their fabulous Spirit LP.
Morrissey’s “Spent the Day in Bed” came out on October 17 and it’s drearily cheerful.
Kiev-based On The Wane is perhaps the coolest gem from Ukraine with their signature noir garage rock. Angry to the bone, but delivered in a sugar pill, “Sultry Song” is off their brilliant Schism LP!
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club returned with an excellent record in 2017 and here’s the “Little Thing Gone Wild” video!
Somewherecold Records and Label Obscura released the LCD from Ukrainian-Canadian duo Ummagma last September, crowned by this great mix by Cocteau Twin’s Robin Guthrie. Curve legend Dean Garcia also features on two tracks, making this one big dream-gave love-in.
Sweden’s Makthaverskan guitar-pop foursome published their new, totally fresh and kinky Ill LP, and here are two songs from it performed live.

Sundsvall Sweden’s extraordinary electronica duo Red Mecca put out the addictive “Set in Motion” in February.
Brooklyn’s My Favourite Things put out a new dream-pop video for “A Little Closer” in early June.
Alternative ‘gaze rockers SOMEDAY from Turin, Italy let out their new “Last Lesson” last January!
