Circle Of Giants: Moe Live In New York

Written by:

I’ve seen Moe so many times, counting would be pointless.

But here’s something I can count: they’ve nailed it every single time.

Their set the other night at the Capitol Theatre in New York was no exception–the Buffalo outfit were in fine form. Numbers like “Band In The Sky” and “Blue Jeans Pizza” were fabulous and “Revolving Door” and “Big World” were just marvelous.

The band are always good for some covers and their renditions of Springsteen’s “Pink Cadillac” and Led Zeppelin’s “No Quarter” were staggeringly great.

Celebrating their 35th anniversary, Moe have never sounded better; bassist Rob Derhak is one of the best in the business and guitarist Chuck Garvey’s playing comes from far beyond the cosmos; he’s incredible.

The show-closing “Tambourine” was a rousing way to end the evening–another flawless night with one of the most durable and enduring bands around.
