Still touring behind her fabulous 2017 Juno-Award winning record Skin & Earth, Canada’s Lights stopped by Brooklyn Steel The Other night to play an inspired set that drew from all four of albums.
The Ontario-born singer/songwriter is in possession of one of the most powerful voices in music and her recent nearly 50-date U.S. tour has served as a great introduction for American audiences to her impressive body of work.
With an easy smile, natural stage presence and a killer band, Lights was completely in the pocket and tore through her set with soulful abandon and endless charm. “Moonshine” and “Savage” were particular standouts, but “Skydiving” and “Almost Had Me” were also hard to beat.
