If anyone mentioned Axl Rose’s internal fixation 25 years ago when Guns N’ Roses were the World’s Most Dangerous Band, it would have conjured a myriad of disturbing sexual fetishes.
But Guns N’ Roses are now the World’s Oldest Most Dangerous Band and phrases like “internal fixation” now refer to orthopedic matters.
Rose sustained an injury last Friday when Guns N’ Roses played the Troubador in Los Angeles.
Rose knew something was wrong, but played through the pain.
And that something ended up being a broken bone in his left foot.
Rose tweeted about the injury today and posted an explanation of the surgery he underwent to repair it.
His foot specialist Dr. Rachel Triche said: “Axl sustained a fracture of the fifth metatarsal, which is one of the bones in his foot…So, Axl underwent what we call an open reduction internal fixation, where we go in and we put the bone pieces back together and realign them and we placed plate and screws in order to hold them in place while it’s healing.”
Guns N’ Roses will play gigs in Las Vegas this weekend and are slated to perform at Coachella next weekend.
“Right now he’s in a cast and we’re limiting how much weight he’s putting on it,” Dr. Triche went on to say. “He’s having his set, I think, designed for the stage so he can perform for everyone still.”
This is what can happen when you do something you haven't done in nearly over 23 years,"Internal Fixation" (ง'̀-'́)ง https://t.co/jFTz3MQw82
