STEREO EMBERS EXCLUSIVE SINGLE/VIDEO DEBUT – “Exposure” from Debut Dazies Album ‘Eyes Repeating’

When asked, as one in this music writing game inevitably is at least weekly, ‘What’s new and good?’ it’s sometimes a challenge to dredge through an already sieve-like memory and issue a response without a time-buying bit of hems and haws. Ask me today? Ha! Easy effin peasy: this new single from new-ish project Dazies (ie one Eddie Gore), a sterling and seemingly effortless piece of honest, flowing, deeply-rooted indie pop magic called “Exposure.”

Taken from the upcoming – and now, immediately, highly anticipated – debut full-length Eyes Repeating releasing October 23rd on LA label Killphonic Records, the arrival of this single rather threw our office into a swoon we’re only now (barely) recovering from. This is the type of straight-up addictive songcraft that no one with even the most cynically shriveled heart (an inevitable condition after being music addicted for some 50+ years though we’ve thus far, for the most part, avoided that fate thanks to submissions like this) could turn away from. Instantly engaging and tipping rather immediately into the ‘swoon-worthy’ category, “Exposure,” in its classic three-and-almost-a-half minute length, having come out of the gate with that (no other phrase for it) ‘addictive immediacy,’ manages to maintain exactly that same irresistable nod-worthy groove throughout, creating along its way exactly the impact most songwriters strive for but tend to fall fatefully short, which is no surprise seeing as how it so immediately engages with those instinctual pop receptors that intuitively, reflexivly signal that that particular nerve has been bull’s-eyed (and we know you know what we mean).

Pensive in its way while simultaneously expansive (don’t ask us how that’s possible but it’s been frequently true of the best such tunes over my listening lifetime), “Exposure” emerges like a song that’s just now woken up from a dream before dropping into a state of “song being” that feels as cuttingly precise as it is simply natural, loping effortlessly into that rare canon of singles labeled ‘ageless classic.’ Exaggeration? Well, you may think so until you hit that familiar red button below.
