Amos Lee stopped by the famed Capitol Theatre the other night to play a thoughtful, rocking and altogether moving set.
Dressed in red and black, the Philadelphia-born Lee’s setlist was drawn from his six-album discography, including his 2016 effort Spirit.
“Supply And Demand” and “Pony” were marvelous and “Bottom of the Barrel” was nothing short of stirring.
He also played covers by the Grateful Dead (“Franklin’s Tower”), Hall & Oates (“Sara Smile”) and Marvin Gaye “What’s Goin’ On?”
The bespectacled Lee was genial and charming and his between song banter was an entertaining counterpoint to his affecting songbook.
