The legendary Gypsy Kings brought their caravan of Catalan Rumba to the Capitol Theatre the other night and it was a truly spellbinding show.
The French outfit were in fine form, their sound a joyful blend of flamenco, funk and pop, expertly played by lifelong musicians who have sold millions of albums and toured the world several times over.
Originally comprised of two main parent families–the Reyes clan and the Baliadro clan–the band has been around since 1978 and now features several generations of those families on the stage at once.
It was a rather spellbinding performance. Here are some of my favorite shots of the night.
