A moving blast of sultry soul, Smith found new energy in the song and it was an instant internet hit.
This week Smith took a stab at another track from the ’80s and the results were nothing short of winning.
Smith sang Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge and he offered a stirring, jazz-inflected reading of the song
