Tawny Ellis has just released a new clip for “Ghosts Of The Low Country (Tay Lah Nay).”
Taken from her new EP of the same name, the Gordon Clar-directed video is a lush and breezy affair that features Ellis in a variety of compelling naturescapes.
Whether she’s playing lap steel by the river, swimming dreamily in that river or dancing elegantly in the forest, Ellis is a beguiling presence, summoning in each frame the majesty and the mystery of the natural world.
The Reuben Reynoso-helmed underwater shots are particularly affecting.
The song is an aching ballad that’s as sweeping as it is elegiac and Ellis moves through it with a deeply moving, open-wounded emotional precision.
Enjoy!
