Flutronix, the critically acclaimed flute duo comprised of Nathalie Joachim and Allison Loggins-Hull, are set to release a new EP, City of Breath, later this month.
The follow-up to Flutronix’s highly innovative LP, 2.0, City of Breath stays true to Joachim’s and Loggins-Hull’s classical flute playing and highlights their interest in urban art-pop.
Flutronix amalgamates classical music and EDM in utterly original and utterly addictive ways – and City of Breath shows a new development in their sound. The EP features a cover of Steve Reich’s Vermont Counterpoint, in addition to three originals: “Like a Storm,” “She Is,” and an acoustic version of “Flock,” one of the strongest tracks from 2.0.
You can listen to the acoustic version of “Flock” here and stay tuned to SEM next week for an exclusive interview with Joachim and a review of City of Breath.
