Warren Zanes took to the stage the other night to open up for John Doe at the Congregational Church in Montclair, New Jersey.
The show show was put on by Outpost In The Burbs, a non-profit organization which, according to their website, is a “non-profit outreach organization dedicated to building community through music, community service and cultural programs.” (You can read all about this terrific organization here:)
The former Vice President of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, author of the fabulous Tom Petty tome Petty: The Biography, and creator of the new PBS series “Soundbreaking,” Zanes treated the crowd to an intimate and moving set of elegant acoustic numbers culled from his solo career. Zanes’ music has poetic precision and pure pop smarts–he was nothing short of fabulous.
