Warrel Dane, the lead singer and founder of the bands Sanctuary and Nevermore has died.
The Seattle-born Dane was 56.
Although the cause of death has not been confirmed, Dane reportedly suffered a heart attack. The singer was in Sao Paulo working on his new solo album. The follow-up to 2008’s Praises To The War Machine, the album was set to called Shadow Work.
A trained opera singer with a seemingly limitless range, Dane also sang for the band Serpent’s Knight.
