Todd Nance Of Widespread Panic Dead At 57

Todd Nance, who was one of the founding members of the beloved jam band Widespread Panic has died.

The Tennessee-born drummer’s family said in a statement that he died Wednesday (August 19) from what they described as, “…sudden and unexpectedly severe complications of a chronic illness.”

He was 57.

Nance also played in the band Brute that was helmed by the late Vic Chesnutt.

He also played with Barbara Cue, Todd Nance and Friends, Bloodkin and The Dyrty Byrds

Nance left Widespread Panic in 2016 and was replaced by Duane Trucks,

Of their former bandmate, Widespread Panic said:  “He wrote great songs, and was a giving and forgiving collaborator.”

They went on to write: “T Man was the epitome of a ‘team player’…Drove the Band and drove the van…Funny, adventurous and a very kind Soul, we wish Todd and his Family peace during this sad time after so many happy times.”
