Back in 2022 it was rumored that Stone Roses guitarist John Squire and former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher were recording an album.
Rumors can go either way, but this one appears to have gone the way of the truth.
Gallagher has not only confirmed the longtime friends have recorded together, on social media he claimed the upcoming album is, “…the best record since Revolver.”
Taking it one step further, Gallagher said: “What’s coming your way is bigger I’m being humble it pisses all over it.”
Although the name of the project is not known, insiders have suggested in might be released under the Squire/Gallagher moniker.
Today (Dec 18), Gallagher posted the link to gallaghersquire.com in his Instagram bio. The initial landing page features Gallagher and Squire prominently at the top along with the option to sign up for a mailing list.
Initially, Gallagher teased that he and Squire would be a part of a supergroup, but no other participants were named. Gallagher had suggested that the ‘Roses rhythm section would be his fantasy band to work with.
The album is tentatively scheduled for a 2024 release.
Live dates are a possibility, but as of yet, nothing is planned.
