The Primitives Set To Release Five-Disc Set

The Primitives are set to be celebrated with a five-disc set due out on Cherry Red this March.

The collection from the indie pop band from Coventry, who are best known in the U.S. for their 1988 hit “Crash,” is called Bloom! The Full Story 1985-1992.  The box set will contain their first three studio albums (Lovely, Pure and Galore) along with singles, alternate versions, B-Sides, demos, abandoned album tracks, BBC Sessions and rare cover versions.

Although the band formed in 1984, they’ve gone through numerous iterations of their lineup over the years. Singer Tracy Tracy and guitarist Paul Court have remained the band’s longest serving members and contribute new interviews for the accompanying booklet.

The Primitives hadn’t put a new album since 1991’s Galore, but they broke their silence with 2012’s Echoes and Rhymes.

They toured California in 2017 and Japan in 2019.
