The Meat Puppets may not be big fans of Christmas, but they’re no grinches, either.

The legendary band posted a gift for their fans in the form of a nearly thirty-minute new track that’s a live mashup of free improv sections from Up On The Sun all recorded while the band was touring back in 2022..The sections were recorded at several stops in Texas, New Mexico and California. The track is a discursive blast of post-punk, free-form hard rock and Grateful Dead-like jams.

On social media the band wrote: “We here at Meat Puppets central don’t believe in Santa Claus, but we do “believe” in miracles. To prove it, we’ve just released this little piece of magic for you to put on and listen to whenever you’re doing whatever. You can find it on our Bandcamp page.
