The Jesus And Mary Chain are staying busy.
Fresh off a stint opening for Nine Inch Nails’ Cold And Black And Infinite tour, the legendary East Kilbride outfit are back in the studio, working on the follow-up to the band’s reunion album Damage and Joy.
The 2017 Youth-produced effort was their first release since 1998’s Munki.
In a recent interview Jim Reid told Cryptic Rock: “We actually have started recording. We recorded a few tracks a couple of months ago and then we took a break. The plan is to try and have a new record out next year. Will it come out? Hopefully, if not it will be 2021, but I think it will be 2020.”
The Jesus and Mary Chain will be touring in the Spring, playing Darklands (1987) in its entirety.
