Robert Smith said The Cure were going to be headlining 20 music festivals this summer and the dates just keep coming.
Hot on the heels of the band announcing their first ever shows in South Africa, the band has now revealed they’ll be playing their first Scottish show in almost 30 years.
The Cure will be headlining the Glasgow Summer Sessions 2019 on August 16th, with Mogwai and The Twilight Sad supporting.
The Glasgow Summer Sessions got its start in 2014 in Bellahouston Park in the Southside of the city. Taking place over three nights, the event has upwards of 100,000 people every year and past performers have included Avici, Kings of Leon and Eminem.
Many have speculated that The Cure will headline Glastonbury and oddsmakers have said that the Glasgow announcement has increased the chances that they will.
