The legendary Tav Falco has announced he will be celebrating his 40th year in the music business with an upcoming U.S. tour.
Dubbed the Cabaret Of Daggers: Panther Burns 40th Anniversary Howl! Tour, the tour will find the Philadelphia-born and Arkansas-raised Falco on the road for the entire month of May and the first part of June. The tour kicks off in San Francisco on May 9 and will wind up in New Orleans on June 6. He and his Panther Burns band will be making stops in Chicago, Detroit, Las Vegas and New Haven along the way.
Falco’s latest album Cabaret Of Daggers was recorded in Rome and two of the musicians on the album will also be touring with Falco on this U.S. swing–producer/arranger/guitarist Mario Monterosso and bassist Giuseppe Sangirardi. Falco will also be joined by drummer Walter Brunetti.
As for what fans can expect on this tour, Falco says, “We will raise our arms in gestures of moral, political, and poetic dissent, but with mythic voices that fit like fur-lined gloves. We will shake our buzzard hips, we will dance naked Tangos, we will soul-hunch the Hully-Gully, we will bring the Italian sun and ‘La Dolce Vita’ to uptight America.”
