As if you needed another reason to love Sufjan Stevens.

Well, here’s another one, since we’re on the topic.

Stevens, who has been touring behind his brand new Carrie and Lowell album, has been selling the 7′” for “Exploding Whale” at the merch table.

The problem?

The vinyl was supposed to come with a download code, but due to a comedy of errors, that code wasn’t included.

So Stevens figured the best solution was to let the internet and his fans come to the rescue.

His label Asthmatic Kitty writes: “No download card. Sorry about that. At first we thought it would be more interesting to let this be vinyl only. Then we realized that’s a dumb idea. Then we ran out of time. So no download? Of course someone will digitize and put on the internet, so good job internet! This is what happens when we all work together! Go team!”
