Steve Winwood is set to release Winwood: Greatest Hits Live the first week of September.

The album is a brand new 2CD/4LP collection, the contents of which have been culled from the legendary musician’s private live archives of live performances.

A 23-song set, the album features previously unreleased music that’s comprised of modern takes on Winwood’s classic back catalog, both as a solo artist and with Blind Faith, Traffic and the Spencer Davis Group.

“I’m excited about the release because I have recorded every show for many years and so it evoked many memories of the performances and reactions from the fans over the years who have supported me,” Winwood said in a press release for the record. “I suppose it is sort of a tribute to the band members and crew I’ve been fortunate to have with me on the road. The songs were chosen for being the ones most recognized throughout my career which have left an impression and so I hope the record will be a souvenir that brings to mind happy memories of a good time experienced at one of my shows.”

Winwood: Greatest Hits Live marks the first release from Winwood in almost a decade.
