Contemporary electronic synthesis music is abound on the debut S/T LP by New York’s solo artist Searmanas. The solo project of electronic producer Niabi Aquena, who originally hails from the Shenandoah Valley in rural Virginia, she has based her musical practice in New York City for almost two decades as a classical pianist and vocalist.
She creates colorful sonic soundscapes through ambient music’s norms, and occasionally she mixes and blends it all with some industrial elements. Put in her ethereal and skilled voice, and add to that her classical music studies, and you have contemporary electronic music which is full of artistic flourishes, fascinating sonic and emotive shifts.
