Though well-known for his dynamic, artful guitar work with Built To Spill and his own band Caustic Resin, it’s in the current solo sphere where we find Brett Netson at his most articulate. Sounding a dead-center spot-on blend of his alumni bands and the more classicist stylings of early- to mid-70’s, Fillmore-ready rock’n’roll, the power he’s bringing to this new EP has our head spinning here at SEM headquarters. Whether intentional or not, this could have served as an audition tape to replace Peter Green in the then-incendiary Fleetwood Mac around the time of – yep – Then Play On. A revelation.
