Today Kylesa premiered the lead single – “Lost and Confused” – from their forthcoming seventh album, Exhausting Fire, which comes out on Season of Mist on October 2.
Well, that’s one, rather boring way, of saying it.
Another way is to say that Kylesa – who are inarguably one of the most daring and innovative rock and roll bands in the world – have offered us a preview of Exhausting Fire, a record that exudes creativity through songs that seamlessly blend psychedelic, progressive, post-punk, and classic rock while never losing their grounding in heavy metal.
As guitarist-singer Laura Pleasants says, “No band sounds like us and we don’t sound like any other band.”
“Lost and Confused” shows that Pleasants, guitarist-singer and producer Phillip Cope, and drummer Carl McGinley are back in a big way and that they’re all set to unveil their best album yet, one that somehow outdoes the classics, Static Tensions (2009), Spiral Shadow (2010), and Ultraviolet (2013).
While you wait for Exhausting Fire, listen to “Lost and Confused” and see Kylesa’s upcoming tour dates below.
