Stereo Embers’ TRACK OF THE DAY: Jonny Polonsky’s “The Weeping Souls” (Alain Johannes Remix)

Written by:

Our Track of the Day today is ‘The Weeping Souls” (Alain Johannes Remix) and it comes from the NYC-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Jonny Polonsky

With a rich history collaborating with the likes of Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) and Donovan, the Chicago-raised Polonsky writes interstellar anthems for a new generation of mindfreaks. These are songs of sex and death and love; hymns of despair and transcendence. His songs are a celebration of what it feels like to be human; from the exalted, grandest moments of euphoria and bliss to the universal pain of loss and letting go.

This particular song is an amazing sci-fi oriented anthem and stellar mid-tempo proof of great songwriting with pure inspiration, by both Polonsky and Johannes. All that stardust taken from some spiders from Mars and all that true sleaze from some New York Dolls.

As for the singing of Mr. Polonsky…really now?! Do these rain dogs still exist?! I am utterly stunned by this song.

Keep up with Jonny Polonsky
