Our Track of the Day today comes from the British-born singer/songwriter Joanne Shaw Taylor.

Her new album–and sixth overall–Reckless Heart is out now and it’s a blistering collection of bluesy muscle and rootsy perfection. A winner of two British Blues Awards, Taylor recorded Reckless Heart in Detroit with producer Al Sutton (Bob Seger, Greta Van Fleet) and as a result, the album has a raw and gritty feel.

No stranger to the road, Taylor has been touring for the last decade and she’s currently making her way across the United States in support of her latest effort.

The album’s first single “The Best Thing” is a life-affirming number that’s soulful and stirring. Filled with a rolling groove and a vocal delivery that’s somewhere between Bonnie Raitt and Leona Lewis, “The Best Thing” is a catchy blast of bluesy bliss.
