So, over at the post-punk desk, much is made of the scene blowing up in Spain, especially in Barcelona. Well, turns out – though no surprise – that the rock scene in general is in extraordinarily brimming health in Spain’s second most populated city, sending out chutes of churning indie brilliance of nearly every stripe in nearly every direction. Exhibit A? Mourn, an almost frighteningly young quartet comprised of Jazz Rodriguez Bueno (18), Carla Pérez Vas (also 18), Leia (15) and Antonio (18) that is musically wise WAY beyond their years. Think Sleater-Kinney more influenced by PJ Harvey than mid-90’s American post-grunge riffery and you’re pretty much there. Just signed to Captured Tracks, check it…
