Released March 31st on Sacred Bones, this rather magical band begun in Santiago, Chile in 2008 (as best they can remember) as a “product of a trance experience between friends” – as most deeply psychedelic bands begin, we suspect – has at last released a video announcement of their third LP titled, with rather obvious mystery, “III.” Stretching itself out as a kind of krautrock-gone-subterranean-funky, it’s eleven-plus minutes of hypnotic bliss, exactly as we’ve come to expect from this absolutely grooved-out sub-equatorial trio. Some transcendent psych came out of Chile and Peru and Brazil and elsewhere down South America way back in the 70’s and we can’t help but think that Föllakzoid are following, whether consciously or not,  in the footsteps of their predecessors with a devoted sense of intrepid inspiration. We are taken.
