Our Track of the Day today comes from Jody and the Jerms.
Taken from the Oxford outfit’s forthcoming third long player Wonder, the punchy blast of “Started Something” brings to mind the careening melodies of Desperate Character-era Kirsty MacColl and the ringing hooks of The Primitives.
Produced by Ride’s Mark Gardener, Wonder is aglow in sugar-spun pop confections and unforgettable harmonies that conjures the jangling heyday of The Bangles and the buoyant rhythms of The Regrettes.
Led by singer Jody Jeger, Jody and the Jerms summon the summer in the most effortless of ways and though it’s still months away, it’s hard not to already feel the warmth of the sun.
Keep up with Jody and the Jerms
