Our track of the day today comes from one our favorite singer/songwriters, Mark Bacino.
A musician with a preternatural understanding of how to write a catchy tune, the New York-born Bacino is a pop craftsman whose hooks arrive unexpectedly and stay in your head for weeks.
His new track “Not That Guy” is no exception.
A jaunty, percussive blast of thoughtful pop, “Not That Guy” explores the frustrations of a very specific kind of unrequited love–the kind where the other person just wants to be friends and nothing more.
Bacino took to social media today to announce the release of the track: “Just a brief interruption to let you know that my new single, “Not That Guy,” releases today (7/22) on the DreamCrush Music label and is available via all the usual digital outlets – iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Spotify, etc. It’s the first new music I’ve released in quite some time so I’m excited for you guys to hear it!”
The song features Jay Sherman-Godfrey (Laura Cantrell, TMBG) on guitars/bass/keys, Joe McGinty (Ryan Adams, Ronnie Spector) on piano and was mastered by Ted Jensen (Paul McCartney, Eagles) at Sterling Sound.
