Stereo Embers’ Track of the Day today is “Our Ship,” which comes from one of our new favorite bands, Kin Cayo.
The band’s name, which translates to “family of small islands” is a true embodiment of their sound, which is an energizing blend of low-fi pop, percussive indie rock and Calypso.
Led by singer Blake Hanley, Kin Cayo are one of the most exciting bands around–melodically adventurous and musically cunning, their sneaky rhythms and sly choruses are some of the year’s best work.
