DateMonthYear is not a band. DateMonthYear is a way of making music in the 21st century. DateMonthYear tends to make music that blends pop melodies, rock dynamics, and movie atmospheres…Rock…in the broadest sense….

DateMonthYear from Hamilton, New Zealand release their new “March” single on January 26 via all the regular online stores and streaming platforms. The new song follows last year’s critically-acclaimed “Numbers” single. The band is currently working on their debut album, focusing on songs addressing issues that need to be spoken about, rather than being a distraction from what is actually going on in the world.
“March” alludes to the process of grief and loss, delivering a strong message with hard-hitting lyrics and accompanying video, which found the band working with local production team and HP 48 Hour Film Festival nominees Bad George.
“March’s” lyrics reflect the transition from grief to hope and tackle the shock of losing someone suddenly.
She wrote a letter to God and said “its nothing personal”
And if its nothing personal, then its nothing at all
She wrote a letter to God about nothing special
And if its nothing special, then its nothing at all
