Stereo Embers’ TRACK OF THE DAY: D.A.R.K.’s “Curvy”

Written by:

Our Track of the Day today is “Curvy” from the band D.A.R.K.

If you haven’t heard of the band before, not to worry–chances are you’re familiar with the their members.

Comprised of The Cranberries’ Dolores O’Riordan, The Smiths’ Andy Rourke and producer/DJ Ole’ Koretsky, D.A.R.K. have just recorded their debut album Science Agrees, which will be out May 27.

The trio got together after Rourke hit it off with Koretsky following a D.C. gig. The two became fast friends and for the last few years had been laying down tracks for a future project. Along the way, Rourke bumped into O’Riordan and when the two started exchanging song ideas, O’Riordan’s creative input on the tracks Rourke and Koretsky had been working on pulled everything together and D.A.R.K was born.

“Curvy” is a blast of swirling synths, prowling bass lines and heaving disco loops, all set against O’Riordan’s stirring vocals, which soar through the song with soulful authority.

Textured, dark and deliciously hypnotic, “Curvy” is a riveting prelude to one of the most exciting releases of 2016.
